Dunedin, New Zealand—13th May, 2017—Chiasma kicked off 2017 in Dunedin, with an annual launch event on the 24th of March, 2017. Held at the Centre for Innovation Seminar Room, University of Otago, Launch provided an opportunity for the STEM community in Dunedin to see what Chiasma is about.
"We aim to establish a culture of undivided passion for science, innovation, and business", said Joshua Harris, Chiasma Dunedin CEO. "In which, science students are inspired to develop their skills for a range of possible careers."
Speaker Dr. Sam Lind (Science and Operations officer at Oritain) talked about the importance of soft skill development. And Dr. Gavin Clark (Director of research and Enterprise at Otago University) gave insight into the broad range of paths available to science students outside of academia. Dr. Clark also explained the importance of commercialisation and the impact it has on the world.
